What does the name “New Wineskin” mean?
In the ninth chapter of Matthew’s gospel, Jesus gives an illustration of old and new wineskins (animal skins historically used to store wine). Jesus explains that old wineskins cannot accommodate new wine because the skin is no longer able to stretch/expand. Rather, new wine should be placed into New Wineskins. The wineskin is symbolic of mankind. The new wine is symbolic of divinely ordained changes in spiritual paradigms. New wineskins can stretch, but old wineskins burst at the seams. We are New Wineskin Ministries.
“No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. “Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16-17 (NKJV).
We gather weekly to worship God and read from His Word. Our services start with a contemporary worship set of live music, followed by teaching from our pastor or another church leader. These services are a time of personal and collective prayer, fellowship with others, and encouragement for the week ahead. We hope you’ll join us!
Below you’ll find brief bios for our Pastor and other members of our church leadership team. Rest assured that these men and women of God are passionate, seasoned, and knowledgeable. If you have any questions about our church or your walk of faith, you can count on them to help guide you to the answer.
We hope you feel right at home here. We’re not just a group of people that gathers every Sunday. We’re a family. And we’re here to serve you, so don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions. Welcome to our church
